Luanco Chorus release notes
Version 2.0 · Upcoming / Release pending
Cumulative changes since the unreleased 1.8 baseline. Version 2.0 supersedes that prepared release; final build validation, public release and store availability remain pending.
Independent Dry and Wet
Global Dry and Wet each span 0–100%, initially 50%; Band Mix remains separate. Existing Mix automation displays Wet, and older state without Dry derives its complementary level. Read the manual →
Three processing paths
Choose Chorus, direct Texture or Texture → Chorus per band. Direct Texture skips chorus voices, Barberpole taps and the separate feedback pitch shifter. Read the manual →
Tape and Preserve Pitch
Move from −4× to +4×. Tape couples pitch to speed and fades at zero; Preserve Pitch retains independent grain tuning and stationary textures. Read the manual →
Pitch, repeated fragments and seeded randomness
Grain Pitch spans −24 to +24 semitones; Repeat relaunches the previous fragment and saved Random Seeds make random choices deterministic under matching render conditions. Read the manual →
Expanded fragments and capture
Grain Length spans 5–1,000 ms and live history reaches four seconds. Freeze Capture Length spans 20–4,000 ms; Keep holds history, Add overdubs Capture Blend and feedback, and length changes affect the next capture. Read the manual →
Free, host and transient fragment timing
Retrigger freely, on straight or triplet host divisions, or from attacks in the selected Interaction Source. Sensitivity and Minimum Retrigger control source-driven launches. Read the manual →
Interaction between audio sources
Use input, a Chorus band or Host Sidechain for Capture Blend, bipolar envelope-to-Speed/Scatter/Grain Size, Ring Modulation and bounded partner feedback. Workhorse also offers layer sources. Read the manual →
Nine MIDI and Rhythm targets
Velocity, aftertouch and Rhythm add Speed, Grain Size and Pitch to the existing six targets. Freeze Note learning, Gate/Latch, note feedback pitch and saved per-band curves remain available. Read the manual →
Workspace, global Tone and live Activity
Presets sit above the spectrum, bands below it and selected-band Activity beneath. A right rail opens parameter popovers. Low Cut, High Cut and slope shape all bands’ combined wet return while Dry remains unchanged. Read the manual →
Twenty-six factory presets and preview evidence
Six new factory presets explore scattered cuts, braking, frozen grains, four-band mutation, external attacks and interacting feedback. The earlier 2.0 preview captures, AU renders and measurements retain their original provenance; final release evidence is pending. Read the manual →
Previous documented baseline
Version 1.8 · Build 2 · Superseded / Unreleased
This prepared Chorus 1.8 build was not publicly released. It is superseded by the upcoming 2.0 release and retained here as historical documentation.
Barberpole and Orbit motion
Barberpole sweeps delay heads up or down using Rate and Depth. Orbit moves voices across stereo with its own speed control, independent of Rate. Read the manual →
Freeze Keep and Add
Freeze captures recent band input. Keep holds the loop; Add permanently layers new input. Set Capture Length before turning Freeze On; changes while held apply to the next capture. Read the manual →
Reverse and Scatter
Independent Reverse and Scatter controls reshape the source grains that feed the chorus voices. Grain Length sets 100–250 ms fragments; short captures and heavy Scatter can shorten them to fit the available history. Read the manual →
Spectral movement
Spectral adds moving notches and frequency-dependent detuning after the wet voices. While enabled, it adds about 21–23 ms to the wet path even at zero Amount; the dry path stays immediate. Read the manual →
MIDI performance
Learn a Freeze Note or choose it directly, then Gate or Latch it. Map velocity and aftertouch together, play feedback pitch from held notes, and draw freely placed points with stepped or curved segments for a clocked rhythm. Read the manual →
Presets and project recall
Long Reverse, Scatter Cuts and Spectral Vortex start fully wet. MIDI settings and rhythm curves can be recalled, while captured Freeze audio remains temporary and restores Off. Read the manual →
Lower CPU for Reverse
Reverse uses less CPU when Scatter is zero. Rendered audio, presets, automation and latency are unchanged. Read the manual →
